Terms of Service

These terms are between you and GradLaunch AI (“GradLaunch”, “we”, “us”). By using the website at gradlaunchai.com or our Chrome extension, you accept them.

If your school or district provides GradLaunch, the agreement between us and that district governs the service, and where it conflicts with these terms, it wins. Nothing here reduces the rights a student or parent has under that agreement or under student privacy law.

Career and college planning tools: a career path built through conversation, a resume editor scored against applicant tracking systems, cover letter drafting, a college application hub with deadlines, essays, recommenders, activities and scholarships, an AI coach you can type to or talk to, and a Chrome extension that works on the page you are on. Schools additionally get counselor tools, classrooms and reporting.

Some features need an account, and some are part of a paid plan or a school’s contract. We may add, change or retire features, and we will not make a material reduction to a district’s licensed modules mid-term without notice.

Through a school. Students of any age may use GradLaunch when their school, district or college provides it, because the school consents on the parents’ behalf for educational purposes.

Signing up directly. You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may only use GradLaunch with a parent or guardian’s permission, and they accept these terms with you. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to sign up directly, and we close such accounts when we find them.

You must be able to form a binding contract where you live.

Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has them. You are responsible for what happens on your account.

Do not:

• Share an account, or use somebody else’s.
• Scrape the service, reverse engineer it, or resell access to it.
• Upload other people’s personal information without a reason to.
• Use it to break the law, or to harass anyone.
• Attempt to use the extension to read pages you are not entitled to see, or to collect data at scale.

Staff accounts may only view students assigned to them, and using staff access for anything other than supporting those students is a breach of these terms.

It will not write your college application essay. Essay features coach: they ask questions, point at sentences you wrote, check word counts and tell you when a draft is done. They do not return prose for you to submit as your own work, and this cannot be turned off.

We build it that way because Common App’s fraud policy treats the substantive output of an AI presented as a student’s own work as fraud, and the penalty can reach every college on a student’s list. Attempting to use GradLaunch to produce an essay to submit as your own is a breach of these terms.

For everything else, resumes, cover letters, chat answers and autofill drafts are produced with AI assistance and can be wrong. Read them, correct them, and make sure everything you submit about yourself is true. You are responsible for what you send to a college or an employer.

It scores some things about you. The onboarding conversation ends by scoring five areas out of 100 and writing a short snapshot, and if your school provides GradLaunch your counselor can see them. They exist so a counselor knows which conversation to have with you next. They are not a grade, nothing in the product is decided automatically because of them, and they are never sent to a college or an employer. They come from one conversation and the AI can misread you, so you may ask a person at your school to review them with you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them. You own what you write. We do not claim your essays, resumes, letters or lists, we do not sell them, and we do not use them to train AI models.

You give us permission to store and process your work only as far as running the service requires, including sending a passage to an AI provider when you ask for coaching on it.

If you cancel a subscription or your school’s contract ends, your work stays in your account and you can export it. We do not delete work for non-payment.

Individuals. The free tier needs no card. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually at the price shown at checkout, and renew until you cancel. Where a free trial is offered, we tell you its length before you start and charge nothing until it ends. Cancel at any time in billing settings; access continues to the end of the period you paid for.

Schools and districts. Priced per student per year against a written quote, invoiced on a purchase order, with no card and no automatic renewal. An unpaid invoice is a conversation with your business office. We do not switch off students to collect a debt.

If your school pays. You should never be asked for a card. If you are, tell us and we will fix it.

Taxes are added where we are required to collect them.

GradLaunch is a planning tool. It is not legal, financial, immigration or admissions advice, and it does not replace your counselor. Cost and outcome figures come from federal data sources and are shown with the year they were published; a college’s own financial aid office is the authority on what you will pay.

Deadlines we prefill are marked unconfirmed until somebody checks them against the college. Always confirm a deadline with the college before relying on it.

We do not guarantee admission, interviews, offers or any particular outcome.

You can stop using GradLaunch and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend an account that breaches these terms, particularly for attempts to obtain submittable essay text, misuse of staff access, or activity that threatens the security of the service. Where the account belongs to a student at a partner school, we will tell the school rather than acting alone, unless there is an immediate security risk.

The service is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for a missed deadline or opportunity.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. For districts, the limit in the signed agreement applies instead.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will give notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use GradLaunch after that means you accept the change.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict of law rules, and the courts there have jurisdiction. This does not remove consumer rights you have where you live, and district agreements may specify a different governing law.
